About Us

Hi, my name is Emma. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 4 and have faced many highs and lows growing up with the condition. In my early 20s I started to wonder where everyone else was who was living with diabetes was and whether they were facing the same challenges as me. I started a Facebook group for other young people living with T1D and found the power of peer support. In 2016 I received an MSc in Health Psychology and in 2018 started a role at The BMJ as patient editor.

Over the last 6 years I have worked with many organisation and patients in the patient involvement world but all too often these groups were struggling to engage with one another. This is where the idea for CEEHealth was born. A place where patients can feel empowered, connected and engaged to bring their lived experience to healthcare. And where organisations can connect with the patient groups they seek, with the knowledge these individuals have the confidence, skills and expertise to engage at the level they require.

Our mission is to connect empowered patients with involvement opportunities from across healthcare organisations and businesses

“Empowered patients can bring so much more than their story. Healthcare works better when patients are involved. Nothing about us, without us.”

— Emma, Founder of CEEHealth
